Philadelphia Eagles fans will have one less thing to worry about as they head to Lincoln Financial Field for the highly anticipated home opener on Thursday night. Thanks to a new partnership between FanDuel and SEPTA, full service will return to the Broad Street Line [B], ensuring that fans can travel safely and efficiently to and from the game.
The collaboration brings back the Broad Street Line’s full complement of regularly scheduled trains, bolstered by Sports Express trips before and after the matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.
SEPTA has faced a budget crisis, which as resulted in 45% service cut. The online sports betting giant, FanDuel, has stepped up to re-install rail lines to the stadium. It made a similar gesture during the holidays in 2024.
How FanDuel is helping Eagles fans
Ahead of kickoff, Sports Express trains will run every 10 minutes, supplementing local service to move thousands of fans quickly to NRG Station. After the game, SEPTA will deploy 10 Express and six Local trains over a 70-minute period, giving fans ample opportunity to head home smoothly. Officials are encouraging attendees to proceed directly to NRG Station after the final whistle to ensure they catch a train.
In a major bonus for Eagles fans, FanDuel is covering the cost of rides home from NRG Station. Beginning at halftime and continuing until the end of service, fans can board for free, removing both the cost and stress of late-night travel after the game.
The initiative drew praise from all sides of the partnership, including Don Smolenski, President of the Philadelphia Eagles.
“We appreciate FanDuel and SEPTA for collaborating to help provide Eagles fans with convenient transportation to-and-from our home opener.
“Their generous support will assist fans in getting to Lincoln Financial Field so that we can all enjoy the Championship Moment together.”
Mike Raffensperger, President of Sports at FanDuel, emphasized the company’s commitment to enhancing the game-day experience:
“As an official team partner of the Eagles, we are proud to collaborate with SEPTA to make planning easier by providing fans with free and reliable transportation after the game.”
For SEPTA, the sponsorship comes at a critical moment, Scott A. Sauer, General Manager at SEPTA said.
“This is a challenging time for SEPTA and our customers, but this partnership will ensure that Eagles fans have safe, clean, and reliable service to-and-from the game – and with the added bonus of free rides home.”
Lincoln Financial Field issued a travel advisory on Tuesday, urging fans to limit tailgating to free up more parking spaces and arrive in the stadium earlier than usual.
With service restored, free rides home, and a packed stadium expected, Eagles fans can focus on what matters most: cheering their team on to victory.
