Comcast Spectator and The Cordish Cos. have completed the redevelopment of Stateside Live! in South Philadelphia. New dining and entertainment features are now available near the city’s sports complex.

The update is notable for Philadelphians looking for more entertainment options across Pennsylvania. They already treat the area as a broader game-day and nightlife destination, and Cordish’s Live! ties make that connection stronger.

New additions include Geno’s Steaks, a rooftop bar, a larger live-event setup, and an expanded PBR Philly footprint.

What changed at Stateside Live!

The redevelopment includes a new two-story building, per the report. AVA Rooftop Bar sits on top. The project also added a performance stage with 1,000 premium seats and a 5,000-person capacity. That gives the complex a larger setup for concerts and other live events.

The revamped property also includes an expanded PBR Philly area with its own outdoor stage and dance floor, plus a new open-air beer garden. On the food side, the project added local and familiar names, including Chickie’s & Pete’s, Lorenzo’s Pizza, and Geno’s Steaks.

The redevelopment was first announced in late 2024.

A bigger piece of Philadelphia’s entertainment scene

This announcement adds to the broader entertainment offering around South Philadelphia. That’s relevant for anyone planning a trip around a Phillies, Eagles, Flyers, or 76ers event. Nearby dining and nightlife options round out the appeal. Cordish’s involvement is also notable given its presence in Philadelphia entertainment.

Meaningful upgrades

In practical terms, the completed project strengthens the sports-anchored district with more places to eat, gather, and attend live events before or after games.

A stage with 1,000 premium seats and room for 5,000 people signals bigger ambitions. This redevelopment goes beyond standard bar traffic. Along with the dedicated outdoor stage at PBR Philly, the complex appears positioned to host larger entertainment programming in the sports district.

The biggest draw from a visitor standpoint may be the range of formats now in one complex: rooftop space, beer garden, concert capacity, and branded local food options. That combination gives the area more flexibility for both major event nights and casual visits.

Among the additions, Geno’s Steaks is likely to stand out most to many Philadelphians. It adds a recognizable local brand to the mix. Chickie’s & Pete’s and Lorenzo’s Pizza also reinforce the project’s local-food angle. Neither is a national chain.

What comes next for visitors

The redevelopment is complete, but it does not specify the exact opening date for the new amenities. Anyone heading to South Philadelphia for a game, concert, or night out should watch out how quickly these new spaces join the regular event rotation in the sports complex area.
