Scott Zeron Sweeps Pennsylvania Sire Stakes Divisions at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows

Scott Zeron delivered a Thursday sweep in the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows. He won both $63,826 divisions for 2-year-old pacing fillies with Fauvette Hanover and JK Lady Liberty.

The card also included three $20,000 Pennsylvania Stallion Series divisions, all won by Dave Palone.

Fauvette Hanover Rallies at 28-1 in First Sire Stakes Split

Fauvette Hanover produced the bigger upset of Zeron’s two stakes wins. She scored at 28-1 after rallying in the passing lane to beat Aestas by a nose. The filly stopped the clock in 1:53 2/5.

The source report said fractions in that race were 27, 57, and 1:25 3/5. Fauvette Hanover now owns a 2-2-1 record from six starts with $60,131 in earnings. Her win payoff was $58.80.

JK Lady Liberty Takes the Second Division in 1:52

Zeron completed the Sire Stakes double with JK Lady Liberty. She moved to the lead before the half and held off Positive Process by a neck. She won in 1:52.

The race fractions were 27 2/5, 55 2/5, and 1:23 4/5. The final quarter was 28 1/5. JK Lady Liberty has now won four times and finished second once in five starts, with earnings of $94,368. She returned $3 to win.

Dave Palone Wins All Three Stallion Series Divisions

Palone swept the Pennsylvania Stallion Series splits for the same age and gait group. Step It Up won in 1:53 1/5 and paid $2.10, Odds On Wonderful scored in 1:53 4/5 and paid $3, and Boardwalk Babe won in 1:52 2/5 and paid $2.10.

For PA racing fans, the results added another notable stakes afternoon to the schedule at The Meadows. The state’s Sire Stakes and Stallion Series were both featured on the same program.
