PENN Entertainment has officially rebranded its online platform from ESPN BET to theScore Bet, completing a nationwide shift that covers 21 US jurisdictions, including Pennsylvania.
The move follows PENN’s decision to mutually end its licensing and marketing arrangement with ESPN, effective Dec. 1.
TheScore Bet is now live for all Pennsylvania sportsbook users, replacing ESPN BET’s branding, app interface, and market presence.
What Pennsylvania users can expect from theScore Bet
For existing ESPN BET customers, the transition will feel familiar. PENN confirmed that all accounts, balances, open wagers, login credentials and responsible-gaming settings transfer automatically to theScore Bet.
No new registration or verification steps are required, and bettors can continue wagering as usual without interruptions.
The state also remains one of PENN’s key Pennsylvania online casino markets, meaning Hollywood Casino’s online casino platform continues to operate alongside theScore Bet just as it had alongside ESPN BET.
PENN also has four retail Hollywood casinos in Pennsylvania. Casino-goers can expect the in-person sportsbooks to be branded as Hollywood or changed to theScore Bet.
A stronger integration with sports media
TheScore Bet’s defining feature is its deep integration with theScore, the long-standing sports media app known for real-time updates, scores, alerts, and customizable team feeds.
PENN says the platform is designed to create “a deeply connected media and betting experience,” allowing users to track games, receive alerts, follow live stats, and seamlessly transition into the sportsbook interface.
TheScore Bet also promises faster load times, expanded betting markets, streamlined in-app navigation, and Pennsylvania sports betting bonuses.
Why the rebrand matters in Pennsylvania’s crowded market
Pennsylvania remains one of the most competitive online betting markets in the US, with more than a dozen operators battling for customer attention. ESPN BET made a splash at launch but eventually settled into a crowded middle tier, with no improvement in sight.
TheScore Bet gives PENN a chance to consolidate its digital strategy under one fully owned brand, without the obligations tied to ESPN licensing. It also coincides with theScore’s Missouri sportsbook launch. TheScore’s popularity, particularly among younger sports fans, may give PENN a stronger long-term foothold in the state.
As Pennsylvania moves into peak sports seasons and growth in the iGaming sector continues, theScore Bet enters the market with a fresh identity but the same operational backbone that powered ESPN BET.
Whether the rebrand translates into increased market share will become clearer as the state’s bettors begin interacting with the newly integrated sports media and betting ecosystem.
