Hey Porter worked harder than anyone in the race. Still, the horse came away with the win in Thursday’s $13,000 fast-class handicap feature trot at Harrah’s Philadelphia.

The Bar Hopping gelding was parked early, then raced uncovered later in the mile. The horse drew off by a length in 1:52.3. Enrico Robinson trains Hey Porter for Pollack Racing LLC. Hey Porter now has $324,088 in career earnings.

The feature unfolded at a strong pace, with fractions of :26.4, :56.1, and 1:24.1. The journey was taxing, yet Hey Porter proved best in the stretch. The source report identified Kierkegaard K and Sapphirerainstar as the other top-three finishers.

On Golden Pond Delivers Life-Best Mile

Elsewhere on the card, On Golden Pond won a $12,000 event for developing trotters in a career-best 1:56.1.

The Southwind Frank mare swept four-wide and scored in her first start for owner Ronald Borduc and trainer Marc Mosher. The win added another notable performance to the Harrah’s Philadelphia program beyond the featured trot.

In the driver standings for the day, Corey Callahan and Mark Herschberger shared top honors with three wins apiece. Johnathan Ahle and Patrick Ryder each recorded two victories.

Pennsylvania Sire Stakes Card Up Next at Harrah’s Philadelphia

Harrah’s Philadelphia was also set to host the third preliminary round of Pennsylvania Sire Stakes action for two-year-old pacing colts.

The track report said Starstruck Dreamer entered as the horse to beat in the lone Sire Stakes split, worth $129,892, after a 1:49.4 victory at Pocono. Five Stallion Series races were scheduled to support the stakes feature. Each race carries a $20,000 purse.

For Pennsylvania horse racing fans, the next point to watch is the upcoming juvenile pacing card. That card follows a program led by a resilient feature-trot win by Hey Porter.
