PokerStars PA Summer Stacks Festival in June Features Low Buy-ins, Over $1M Guaranteed

Posted By Martin Harris on June 7, 2021

It’s a new season, but a similar story for PokerStars Pennsylvania. Following a successful Pennsylvania Spring Championship of Online Poker (PASCOOP), PokerStars PA has announced a new Summer Stacks Festival will take place June 12-28.

The series features 100 events, all with buy-ins $100 or less and guarantees across the series totaling just over $1 million.

100-tournament schedule culminates with $100K gtd. Main Event

Following the intensity of PASCOOP, PokerStars PA seeks to provide a “more casual” tournament series for players with lower buy-ins and many turbo-style events designed to complete quickly. To be exact, the guarantees actually add up to $1,045,000.

The Summer Stacks Festival series will culminate with a $100 buy-in Main Event starting Sunday, June 27 that will feature a series-high $100,000 guarantee. Check out the entire 100-event schedule below.

PokerStars will run similar Summer Stacks Festival series on both of its other US sites during the same 17-day period. In both Michigan and Pennsylvania the series will also feature 100 tournaments with buy-ins $100 or less.

On PokerStars MI, the series has exactly $1 million in guarantees and a $100,000 guaranteed Main Event. Over on PokerStars NJ, the guarantees will total $528,000 with the Main Event guarantee $50,000. (Note: Each PokerStars US site is “ring-fenced,” meaning players can only play against others inside the state.)

Freerolls throughout PokerStars PA Summer Stacks

Running alongside the Summer Stacks Festival tournaments on PokerStars PA will be daily freerolls. These side tournaments will allow Pennsylvania players to win their way into series events rather than have to buy into them.

Players who deposit at least $30 into their accounts using the bonus code “SUMMER21” earn entry into the daily Depositor Freerolls in which $10,000 worth of tournament tickets will be given away.

There will also be Second Chance Freerolls during the series. Players who bust from Summer Stack Festival events without cashing automatically earn entry into the following day’s Second Chance Freeroll. Those freerolls also will give out $10,000 in tournament tickets over the course of the series.

PokerStars PA currently outpacing Stars’ Michigan, New Jersey sites

By running a Summer Stacks Festival on all three US sites at once, PokerStars will again create an opportunity to compare how the three US sites are performing. When it comes to such comparisons, PokerStars PA has fared well of late.

In late April-early May, the PASCOOP awarded over $2.6 million across 120 tournaments. That outdid the SCOOPs on both PokerStars MI and PokerStars NJ that took place last month.

In Michigan, the MISCOOP awarded $2.35 million following a very similar schedule to the one used for PASCOOP. Meanwhile in New Jersey, NJSCOOP players won $1.36 million in a 165-tournament series.

As far as other comparisons go, PokerStars PA has yet to face any rivaling tournament series from other Pennsylvania online poker sites.

The new Borgata Poker and BetMGM Poker sites went live in late April, sharing players in PA on the partypoker US Network. The sites had announced a first ever partypoker Network Online Series to take place at the end of May. However, that series was cancelled and may be rescheduled at a later date.
