A commercial-grade fireworks explosion inside a Rivers Casino Pittsburgh bathroom resulted in a man being charged early Sunday morning.

Jeremy Allen Hartman faces several charges, including risking a catastrophe, arson, theft, criminal mischief, recklessly endangering another person, and receiving stolen property.

The incident began after Hartman allegedly trespassed into a closed restaurant, attempting to steal bottles of alcohol.

Casino staff member injured

Hartman was taken into custody after security caught him in the restaurant. While being escorted into a holding area, he asked to use the bathroom.

In the bathroom, Hartman allegedly lit fireworks into a toilet. A casino staff member was injured from the explosion. The employee was treated and released by medical staff, KDKA/CBS News reported.

A vehicle registered to Hartman was discovered on the fifth floor of the casino’s parking garage. Pennsylvania State Police allegedly found more fireworks while searching the vehicle.

The Pittsburgh Police Bomb Squad and K-9 Unit then conducted a search of the vehicle and the casino, and no more fireworks were found.
