Parx Casino announced on Monday afternoon the acquisition of The Inn at Fox Chase in Bensalem, which is going to serve as the property’s long-awaited hotel. This is a huge step for the top grossing casino in the Keystone State.

Parx Casino received zoning approval from the Bensalem Township to build a 15-story hotel in December 2022. It looks as if Parx switched gears, acquiring a hotel that will now be six stories.

Regardless of the size, including a hotel for guests at the most popular casino in the state is a big development.

Rebranded hotel to open in 6-12 months

In March 2023, Parx had plans of building a 300-room luxury hotel on the casino’s campus. However, directions appeared to change when Parx acquired The Inn at Fox Chase, an already existing hotel built in 1988.

According to the press release, “extensive renovations” will be completed on the hotel over the next 6-12 months. Upon completion, the 167-room hotel will be rebranded. Some of the features of the new establishment include:

  • Outdoor pool
  • Fitness center
  • 2,000+ square feet in meeting space
  • Restaurant

Eric Hausler, CEO of Greenwood Racing Inc., said in the press release:

“For several years, we have been exploring adding a hotel to the Parx complex as we continue to broaden the appeal and geographic reach of the Parx Casino brand. We welcome the Inn at Fox Chase employees to the Parx family and look forward to creating a first-class leisure experience for our guests over the coming months.”

In addition to the amenities above, the top floor of the hotel will consist of 16 suites.

The Inn at Fox Chase will remain open during the renovation process. All employees, as Hausler alluded to, will be offered continued employment after the rebrand.

How adding a hotel makes Parx Casino even stronger

Parx Bensalem produced a state-high $588.2 million in slots and table games revenue in 2023. The property has kept the ball rolling in 2024, generating $242.4 million through May.

The new hotel at Parx is going to keep more customers on the premises. The Inn at Fox Chase is only an 11-minute walk to Parx’s front doors.

Parx joins Live! Casino Philadelphia and Valley Forge Casino Resort as properties in Southeastern Pennsylvania with lodging options for patrons. Rivers Casino Philadelphia opened a 62-room luxury hotel in December 2023. Other facilities with hotels across the state include:

  • Mount Airy Casino
  • Wind Creek Bethlehem
  • Rivers Casino Pittsburgh
  • Mohegan Pennsylvania

Including a hotel for hundreds of guests at the top casino in the state is only going to make Parx even more attractive destination for patrons.
