The Pennsylvania iGaming market shattered a new US revenue record in October. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported that operators produced $312.5 million in gross revenue last month.
It’s been awhile since Pennsylvania online casinos set a monthly record. The previous all-time high came in March as platforms recorded $294.2 million.
Setting new bars
Pennsylvania is the No. 1 iGaming market in the US and proved it in October by being the first state ever to surpass $300 million in revenue in a single month. Michigan and New Jersey also set state records, generating $263.3 million and $260.3 million, respectively.
The vertical is showing no signs of slowing down, and puts into perspective the growth compared to other markets. Operators displayed a month-over-month increase of 10.2% and a staggering year-over-year increase of 27.4%.
The state is also nearing $3 billion in year-to-date revenue, having recorded $2.83 billion. It’ll certainly reach that benchmark in November.
Valley Forge closes in on milestone
The Valley Forge license is made up of FanDuel Casino and Stardust, with FanDuel being the likely majority contributor. It recorded $92.2 million in October revenue.
That is an impressive figure, considering the Hollywood Penn National license turned in $120.8 million. That license consists of DraftKings Casino, BetMGM Casino, Fanatics Casino, and Hollywood Casino.
The PGCB does not disclose revenue by operator. However, to be trailing two of the market leaders by less than $30 million is an impressive feat for FanDuel.
Harrah’s makes a leap
The Harrah’s Philadelphia license recorded $17.5 million in October revenue, which is a huge step from $13.8 million in September.
Harrah’s Philadelphia consists of the following operators:
- Caesars Sportsbook
- Caesars Palace Casino
- Horseshoe Casino
- Tropicana Casino
- WSOP.
Caesars Sportsbook contains casino games, which can be different than what players see in Caesars Palace or Horseshoe. Caesars has created another revenue stream for iGaming that is intertwined with a predominant sports bettor.
The operator certainly isn’t FanDuel or DraftKings, but the products it operates in the Keystone State appear to be resonating.
