Mohegan has promoted longtime gaming executive Guy Greene to chief marketing officer of Mohegan Digital, a move that underscores the company’s growing focus on the Pennsylvania online casino and sports betting market.

Greene will oversee marketing strategy for Mohegan Digital’s iGaming and online sports wagering products, including Mohegan Pennsylvania Online Casino and the recently launched Mohegan Pennsylvania Online Sportsbook, which operate in one of the most competitive regulated gaming markets in the country.

Pennsylvania a core growth market

Pennsylvania has quickly become a key pillar in Mohegan Digital’s expansion strategy, particularly following the rollout of its online sportsbook. Greene told PlayPennsylvania that the early performance of Mohegan’s Pennsylvania platforms has exceeded internal expectations.

“Pennsylvania is certainly an area of significant growth potential for Mohegan Digital, and we’ve already exceeded short-term expectations around player acquisition since the rollout of the Mohegan Pennsylvania Online Sportsbook, which integrates seamlessly with Mohegan Pennsylvania Online Casino.”

“Looking ahead, Mohegan has a strengthened focus on creating a connected experience that merges exciting online play with thrilling on-site experiences at our destinations, including Mohegan Pennsylvania in Wilkes-Barre, PA.”

Greene added that Mohegan’s omnichannel approach will be central to future growth in the state, particularly as loyalty integration expands. He added:

“Rewarding play across channels – especially through Mohegan’s Momentum loyalty program, which will soon integrate into our online Pennsylvania platforms – along with personalized offers and refined messaging will be central to our strategy.”

Mogehan launched its sports wagering site in November and produced $1.6 million in handle. Its iGaming platform generated $2.6 million in revenue that month.

Leadership for a competitive iGaming landscape

As CMO, Greene will lead marketing and advertising teams responsible for performance marketing, brand management, creative services, social media, and community engagement. His role also includes accelerating omnichannel campaigns that connect Mohegan Pennsylvania‘s brick-and-mortar casino operations with its digital platforms.

Rich Roberts, president of Mohegan Digital, said Greene is the right man at the right time.

“Guy Greene brings a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record to Mohegan Digital and the evolving marketing strategies we’re implementing.

“His leadership will be instrumental in driving innovation and strengthening our brand presence.”

Decades of gaming experience

Greene began his gaming career at Foxwoods Resort Casino in 1993 before joining Mohegan Sun when it opened in 1996. He later held multiple director-level marketing roles, worked with Pechanga Resort Casino, and served as strategic account and program director at Overabove Marketing & Advertising Agency before rejoining Mohegan in 2021.

Mohegan operates Mohegan Pennsylvania, formerly Mohegan Sun Pocono, and continues investing in both retail and online gaming as Pennsylvania remains a cornerstone of its digital strategy.
