Pennsylvania taxes sportsbooks harder than almost anywhere else in the country. That hasn’t deterred Fanatics, which is running a season-long bonus for Pennsylvania sports betting players.

The state takes 36% of operator revenue from sports betting, plus another 2% in local taxes, the second-highest sports betting tax rate among states with more than one operator, according to Legal Sports Report. Only New York, at 51%, taxes sportsbooks harder. That kind of margin pressure usually pushes operators toward shorter, less-value promotions.

Fanatics Sportsbook PA built its college football sports betting bonus to run the opposite way.

Sept. 5, the traditional Kickoff Saturday of the college football calendar, brings a 100% Profit Boost Token to Pennsylvania accounts through a Choose Your Own Reward setup, letting players pick the token that fits how they actually bet.

That’s the hero day.

But it doesn’t end there.

Starting the following week, Fanatics drops a 50% Profit Boost Token into Pennsylvania accounts every Saturday, all season long. Fanatics confirmed the offer runs for new and existing accounts alike, a commitment that outlasts a single signup window even in a market this expensive to operate in.

How does the Fanatics Sportsbook profit boost actually work?

A profit boost lifts your odds, not your stake. A $25 bet at plus-110 pays $52.50 on a win. Boost those odds by 20% and they effectively become plus-132, lifting the payout to $58. The extra $5.50 comes from better odds on a winning ticket, not free money layered on top of the wager.

Read the full terms and conditions before activating any token, since the exact boost tiers and leg minimums for college football determine what a given token is actually worth.

The Choose Your Own Reward format itself isn’t new. Fanatics already runs a version of it as a signup offer for new customers. What’s new is applying the sportsbook bonus to a single hero day, then backing it with a season-long weekly drop instead of retiring it once the welcome period ends.

How does Pennsylvania’s college football bonus compare to other sportsbooks?

Cadence, not size, is where Fanatics separates itself. Legal Sports Report’s promo tracking shows Caesars running its own profit boost push this fall, twenty 100% tokens loaded into new accounts as a one-time signup offer. DraftKings, FanDuel and BetMGM are all working the standard bet-and-get script this month, bonus bets, or a first-bet safety net that pays out once and moves on.

Fanatics’ structure runs all season, is open to existing bettors too, is tied to the football calendar instead of the signup window – all in a state where that kind of standing commitment costs the operator more than it would almost anywhere else.

Sportsbooks adjust offers like this one as kickoff approaches, and this reflects what Fanatics has published. Read the full terms and conditions before opting in. Wagering requirements, expiration windows, and maximum token value are where the real value of an offer gets decided.

Fanatics Sportsbook has operated legally in Pennsylvania since January 2024, running under PointsBet Pennsylvania LLC’s interactive gaming certificate through agreements with Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course and Hollywood Casino York. The offer is open to Pennsylvania bettors 21 and older, physically located in the state.

High-tax states usually get the thin bonuses. Thanks to Fanatics, Pennsylvania got a season pass instead.
