Match 5 winning ticket sold in CA for $1.9 million

The last drawing, on Tuesday, Oct. 6, yielded numbers of 15 – 16 – 18 – 39 – 59, with a Megaball of 17. Additionally, the Megaplier, which is a $1 optional play, was 3X.

The biggest winning ticket was sold out of California, and it matched all five white balls. The winner did not purchase the optional $1 Megaplier, but still, the ticket is worth $1.9 million.

So what’s the deal? Well, California is the exception, where prize amounts are paid out on a pari-mutuel basis. Thus, they differ from the fixed prize amounts that are normally expected. Remember that normally, a Match 5 ticket with no Megaplier is worth $1 million.

Where can you purchase lottery tickets online?

Just by being inside Pennsylvania state borders, you can legally buy lottery tickets online. In fact, the PA online lottery also offers great incentives for signing up. For example, today, there is a Fallin’ Friday promotion, where you receive an instant $5 in bonus money after a $5 net cash loss.

However, you don’t need to only be in PA to play. Other states where you can purchase lottery tickets online are:

  • Georgia
  • Illinois
  • Kentucky
  • Michigan
  • New Hampshire
  • North Carolina
  • North Dakota
  • New York
  • Virginia

Best of luck to you this weekend, and remember to play responsibly.
