Pennsylvania Casinos Celebrate Fourth of July Weekend With Free Fireworks, Concerts and Promos

Written By Derek Helling on July 2, 2021

Fireworks and a few days off have you feeling lucky? Between special celebrations and Fourth of July casino promos, Pennsylvania casinos will be great sites to spend at least part of the day’s festivities.

Among the events are fireworks, harness racing, and live music. Promotions include special deals on dining and drinks and table games. Brick-and-mortar casinos aren’t alone, either. PA casino apps are in on the action, too.

Fourth of July casino promos and events in PA

Most of the retail casinos in PA are offering some kind of special event Sunday.

Harrah’s Casino Philadelphia is hosting July 4 at the Races. Among the offerings there Sunday are:

  • Beer garden
  • Food and drink specials
  • Free family entertainment
  • Full live race card
  • Patio games

If you’re looking for an adults-only entertainment option, Valley Forge Casino has you covered. Valley Beach is hosting “Don’t Call Me Francis,” a live show featuring dancing and pop hits. There is a $10 cover charge.

Your festivities could start earlier this weekend, though. Live! Casino Philadelphia is getting into the spirit Saturday night with a free fireworks display. The casino will start the show at 9:45 p.m. from the top of its parking garage. While the show should be visible from anywhere in south Philly, the casino will have DVYAA Ballfield at 7th and Packer open starting at 7:30 p.m. for spectators. Patrons should bring their own chairs.

Free summer concert and fireworks at Rivers Pittsburgh

Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh sees that Saturday night fireworks display and aims to raise it with its own the following day. That’s just part of the happenings at that property for July 4, however.

Rivers Casino Pittsburgh is also hosting a free outdoor summer concert on July 4 at 7:30 p.m.. Jim Donovan and the Sun King Warriors will play rhythm-heavy roots rock at the riverfront amphitheater.

July 4th block party at Rivers Casino Philadelphia

Starting at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Rivers is hosting a free block party for attendees of all ages. On top of free parking, the entertainment will include:

  • Activities geared toward a younger audience like a balloon artist and face painting
  • A live performance by an Earth, Wind & Fire tribute band, Let’s Groove Tonight, from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Fireworks display on the Delaware River starting at 9:15 p.m.
  • Food trucks
  • Games like Giant Jenga and cornhole
  • Live music from DJ Teal on the stage adjacent to Jack’s Bar & Grill

Several of Rivers’ eateries will offer $4 food specials. Jack’s will offer mini corn dogs while Mian has shrimp egg rolls and Lou’s has 2 for $4 hot dogs. Hugo’s Frog Bar & Chop House also has two specialty cocktails available on Sunday.

Rivers’ specials don’t end with beverages and food, though.

  • Rivers Casino Poker: July 4 and running every Sunday in July, the casino is offering $500 high hand poker every 30 minutes from noon to 10 p.m. The payout total for that promotion will top $300,000 for the month.
  • Wheels or Riches Car Giveaway: From now until July 31, all Rush Rewards Members can earn one entry into the giveaway for every 50 same day Tier Points earned. Guests will also earn 3X drawing entries every Tuesday in July, and 2X drawing entries every Friday in July. All earned entries will also roll over from week to week. Every Saturday in July at 8:30 p.m., five winners will be selected for the chance to win a cash prize up to $3,000 or a 2021 Ford Ranger, Mustang or Escape.

What to know on your next visit to PA casinos

It will be a very different Fourth of July at PA casinos compared to last year. All PA casinos are casinos and masks are not required for vaccinated visitors. Drink service returned to the casino floor and customers can also grab a seat at the bar. Also, since the state dropped its mask mandate, smoking indoors has resumed at some casinos.

If you are planning a last-minute stay, here is a guide at casinos in PA with hotels and with pools.

Online casino promos for the summer

If Philadelphia or Pittsburgh aren’t among your destinations for this weekend or you’d just rather gamble online, you aren’t left out in the cold.

Many of the PA casino apps have turned up the heat for their customers old and new this summer. BetMGM Casino and Borgata Casino both offer a special Play & Earn promotion with up to $200 in prizes, for instance.

Unibet Casino currently offers a weekly leaderboard for table games with $3,000 in prizes up for grabs. Of course, these promos are in addition to the ongoing welcome bonuses for new customers.

Whether you play in person, online, or both, the Fourth of July weekend should be great for casino patrons in PA. The special entertainment should make it enjoyable for all Pennsylvanians, even those who have no interest in gambling.
