Pennsylvania online casinos produced $291.5 million in August revenue.
It’s the third time operators have eclipsed the $290 million threshold. It’s also the third-highest total of all time, trailing just March ($294.2 million) and May ($291.7 million) earlier this year.
Pennsylvania online casinos appear to be as strong as ever despite the usual summer slump.
Close to another record
The vertical came within $200,000 of being the second-highest total of all time, and just under $3 million of the record, according to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board’s report on Wednesday. It’s conceivable that operators could break the record in the fall.
In August, operators increased revenue by 4.9% month-over-month and 30% year-over-year.
The industry also surpassed $2 billion in year-to-date revenue through eight months. It’s closing in on $11 billion in lifetime revenue.
FanDuel impresses
Pennsylvania does not break down revenue by operator, only by licensee. It’s difficult to see the exact totals each operator takes in.
However, as FanDuel Casino and Stardust Casino are partnered with Valley Forge, it’s likely the former produces the majority of the revenue. The Valley Forge license produced $88.6 million in August, which is easily the highest ever.
Valley Forge’s previous high came in April when it recorded $85.2 million. In July, the licensee produced $77 million.
It came roughly $18 million shy of Hollywood Penn National, which is partners with DraftKings, BetMGM, Fanatics, and Hollywood.
Bet365 makes a leap
Bet365 Casino is Presque Isle Downs’ only partner, which makes it easy to see its total. The operator turned in a strong month in August, generating $3.8 million in revenue.
Bet365 has crossed $3 million only once since April, in August:
- April: $3.1 million
- May: $2.9 million
- June: $2.6 million
- July: $2.8 million
The operator got off to a strong start to the year, recording $7.1 million in January. Hopefully, for bet365, it has started to gain some momentum as the fall months approach.
