Nathan Klein is now the full-time track announcer at Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course. He took the job on June 3 at age 21. The move made him North America’s youngest race caller.

How Autism Shapes Klein’s Race-Calling Work

The milestone is the focus of a new America’s Best Racing video profile. The profile highlights autism acceptance and inclusion in horse racing. It says Klein was diagnosed with autism at age 5. Klein discussed how that has shaped both his upbringing and his work in the announcer’s booth.

Klein is a graduate of the University of Arizona’s Race Track Industry Program. He said autism affects his race-calling work through association, including his ability to remember runners’ colors and equipment.

He also described the intense concentration the job requires. Klein compared raising binoculars to his eyes at the start of a race to “putting on blinkers.” He said it makes his focus “razor sharp.”

What the Profile Means for Penn National

The profile adds a notable Pennsylvania connection for racing fans. Klein now serves in a prominent on-track role at Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course.

America’s Best Racing said the feature is part of its 2026 video series. It offers a closer look at one of the voices now most closely tied to race days at the track.

For Penn National followers, the takeaway is straightforward. The track’s 21-year-old, full-time announcer is drawing added attention to inclusion in the sport.
