Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course has added country artist Matt Stell as the special guest for Jon Pardi’s Aug. 21 concert stop in Grantville. Central Pennsylvania native Gillian Smith is set to open the show.

For Pennsylvanians, the update adds another entertainment draw at a property better known for gaming, racing, and on-site dining.

Concert lineup expands at Grantville casino

The announcement gives Hollywood Casino at Penn National a fuller country lineup for one of its summer outdoor shows. According to the venue, the event is part of its Hollywood Outdoor Concert Series. It will offer an outdoor party atmosphere with food, drinks, games, and performances from nationally recognized artists.

Tony Frabbiele, vice president of Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course, said the property expects a strong night of live music with all three performers on the bill.

“We’re excited to welcome both Matt Stell and Gillian Smith to Hollywood Casino for what promises to be an incredible night of live country music,” Frabbiele said.

Frabbiele added Stell is known for an energetic live show, and Smith continues to build her profile beyond Central Pennsylvania.

A local opener on the bill

Smith’s inclusion gives the event a stronger Central Pennsylvania connection. The venue identified Nashville recording artist as the Central Pennsylvania native and the first performer of the evening.

Stell, meanwhile, brings a recognizable country profile to the show. He has generated more than half a billion global streams, the venue said. It also noted his song “Breakin’ in Boots” reached the Top 15.

What’s confirmed about the Aug. 21 show

Hollywood Casino is continuing to use live entertainment as part of its broader on-property offering. The Grantville venue, located near Harrisburg, also features live thoroughbred racing, more than 1,500 slot machines, 42 table games, restaurants, bars, and other dining options.

That makes the concert relevant beyond the music lineup itself. It is another example of a Pennsylvania casino packaging entertainment alongside its core gaming business.

Tickets are already on sale through Ticketmaster. According to the casino, a portion of the proceeds from every concert ticket sold will support veteran charities.

Beyond that, locals interested in the event may want to watch for any concert-day updates from Hollywood Casino.
