Betr might not be a familiar name to Pennsylvanians. After all, the operator’s sportsbook is only currently legal in Ohio, Massachusetts and Virginia. However, in a press release emailed to PlayPennsylvania, the company announced it gained market access in the Keystone State, with plans to expand to PA and additional states, too.

In addition to launching a sportsbook, Betr has intentions of entering the Pennsylvania market with its first-ever online casino.

Betr announces Pennsylvania online gambling expansion plans

The PA online casino market could get a big boost in the near future. With plans of launching another new platform, the Keystone State would be up to 22 online casinos.

Betr has already hit the ground running by securing a market access partnership with the Cordish Gaming Group, which offers retail options such as Live! Casino Philadelphia and Live! Casino Pittsburgh.

Rob Norton, President of Cordish Gaming Group, said in the press release:

“We are very excited to partner with Betr on the launch of their first online casino. Betr Casino will make a winning addition to the gaming options available to Pennsylvania players, which includes two of our own successful Live! Casino properties.”

In addition to Pennsylvania, Betr said it has market access deals with the following states:

  • Colorado
  • Kentucky
  • Indiana

The operator also announced it recently applied for a sports betting license in Maryland.

Along with launching an online casino in Pennsylvania, the company is debuting a new and improved sports betting product, called V1, in the four states above. V1 will also be rolled out in Ohio and Virginia.

Betr Sportsbook has been live in three states. However, the operator offers more than just a sportsbook. It has another product called Betr Picks. According to its website, it’s described as:

“Betr Picks is a new way to enjoy fantasy sports where you can pick MORE or LESS for your favorite players’ stats to win up to 100x your entry! Make multiple picks across the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and more! Pick everything from Patrick Mahomes passing yards to Aaron Judge home runs!”

It’s similar to an operator like PrizePicks, where it’s a platform mainly for prop betting. Betr Picks is available in 19 states, which does not include Pennsylvania. There is no word on whether it will be in the future.

Betr Founder and CEO, Joe Levy, boasted about the reach Betr Sportsbook and Betr Picks have generated. After expansion, the sportsbook will be available to 17% of the US population. Betr Picks is already available to 50% of the country.

In the press release, Levy said:

“We are thrilled to announce our new market access partnerships for Sportsbook and the introduction of Betr Casino in 2024 ahead of our V1 Sportsbook launch. Through the success of Betr Picks, we have validated that our playbook of simpler and more intuitive user experiences built for casual fans on the product front, and original short form video built for the next generation of sports fans on social media on the distribution front, are winning strategies for rapidly and efficiently scaling a new real money gaming business in the US.”

The release mentioned that Betr hopes to go live in the expanded states by the end of 2024, preferably before the start of the next NFL season.

Online casinos can soar even higher in the Keystone State

Pennsylvania broke a US monthly online casino revenue record, producing $204.2 million last month. It’s the first time any state even came close to $200 million, let alone eclipse it.

Pennsylvania has welcomed several new PA online casinos since the start of 2023. Those include:

Fanatics Casino became the fifth new operator in 13 months after launching in the Keystone State earlier this week.

Pennsylvania is proving that it can be a home for all online casinos, including smaller and lesser-known platforms. However, Betr is starting to gain a reputation in the space. It certainly doesn’t hurt that YouTube sensation Jake Paul is a co-founder of the company.

The addition of Betr Casino will grow the Pennsylvania market even more. The sky is truly the limit for online casinos in the Keystone State.
