Pennsylvania online casinos continues to churn out massive revenue numbers despite it being the middle of summer. Operators produced an impressive $216.4 million in gross July iGaming earnings, which is the third-highest mark of all time.
PA online casino revenue totaled more than $200 million in four straight months earlier this year. However, that ended in June, when platforms recorded just $195.6 million.
Operators got back on track last month in a big way, experiencing a month-over-month growth of 10.6% and a year-over-year increase of 37.7%.
PlayPennsylvania Managing Editor Dave Briggs said of PA online casinos:
“It was the fifth time in the last six months that revenue topped $200 million, which is an incredible accomplishment. Even better is the fact that lifetime tax revenue from online casinos surpassed $2.5 billion. That money goes a long way to help improve the lives of Pennsylvanians.
“It is truly eye-opening when you look at chart showing the Pennsylvania iGaming revenue over the last five years and the incredible growth in the sector.”

Quick analysis from July PA iGaming figures
- Bet365 Casino PA, partnered with Presque Isle Downs, generated nearly $1.1 million in essentially nine days of going live in July. The operator averaged around $120,000 a day, which would have put revenue over $2.5 million should it have launched on July 1. August should be an interesting month for bet365, which has put already ahead of Wind Creek and Mohegan Sun. Bet365 still has some catching up to do before it reaches Bally’s, Mount Airy and PlayLive!
- It seems like every couple of months, online casinos are setting some kind of milestone in Pennsylvania. July happened to be where slot revenue exceeded $1 billion for the year. Operators produced $166.5 million in slot earnings last month, which accounted for 76.9% of the total revenue. With more than 10,000 slots across 22 platforms, customers continue to show that slots are far and away the most popular games. Operators do a great job of keeping libraries updated and fresh.
- Tax revenue has reached two separate milestones last month. Since becoming legal in 2017, online casinos have produced more than $2.5 billion in lifetime tax revenue. In July, tax revenue also crossed the $500 million YTD threshold. The majority of the earnings go to Property Tax Relief Fund and the General Fund. A cut also goes to counties in the state, along with school districts. It doesn’t look like platforms are slowing down anytime soon.
