Bally Bet Sportsbook has been poised to join the Pennsylvania sports betting landscape for several years. The Bally Bet Casino launched in PA in 2023, and at the time, it was thought that the companion sports app would soon follow in PA. An announcement in mid-2024 suggested that PA would be among the few states where Bally Bet Sportsbook would expand by year’s end, but that has yet to happen. While nothing has been announced, there is no reason to believe Bally Bet will enter the Pennsylvania market without a welcome bonus for new users. Here’s a look at the most common welcome bonuses in the state to get an idea of what you can expect from Bally Bet PA.

• Bonus bets: One of the more common welcome offers is a one-time, bonus bet. In some cases, you receive bonus bets just for signing up. In others, you have to make an initial wager first (usually a small one). In some cases, you receive bonus bets regardless of the outcome of your bet, while in others you might have to win or lose that first bet in order to receive bonus bets. Bonus bets must be wagered and cannot be withdrawn, and when you win a wager with one you get the winnings but not the stake amount back (as you do with regular cash bets).
• First deposit matches: Here is a welcome bonus that you’ll see a lot. Sites will match your first deposit up to a set amount, and this bonus is also often awarded in bonus bets. The percentage of the match can vary, but is often as high as 100%. The key here is seeing how much money you need to wager in order to get your deposit match released. Usually you have to play through your deposit at least 1x in order to receive your extra funds.
• Second chance bonuses: Sites often give new sign-ups a “second-chance” bonus that lets them make an initial wager, and if that wager loses they get the wager amount back as bonus bets up to a certain maximum.

The big question is whether Bally Sportsbook PA will be able to complete with top competitors like DraftKings and FanDuel when it comes to regular promotions. Both of those bookies have solid offerings daily for new and existing users, but they also separate themselves from the crowd with their promotions that are basically guaranteed wins for players.

Is Bally Bet legal in Pennsylvania?

As noted above, Bally Bet Casino is up and running in PA, but Bally Sportsbook is not. When it does launch in PA, you can rest assured it will be 100% legal and safe.

Bally Bet PA already has a license to operate along other Pennsylvania online casinos. The license was issued by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, which oversees gambling in the state. The PGCB will also issue Bally Bet PA a sports betting license before it goes live in PA, which means the site will be licensed and regulated.

Note also that in order to place any bets on sports in the state, users will need to be at least 21 years old and located in the state when placing bets. For that reason, you will need to have some form of geolocation software turned on in order for the system to confirm you are within Pennsylvania state lines when you place wagers.
