It’s early in 2020 but Parx is already raising the stakes for PA online gambling.
It will soon be home to the first online live dealer games in the state. Evolution Gaming signed an agreement with Parx to power live dealer casinos in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Parx players will be able to choose from a range of live dealer table games streamed from Evolution’s existing New Jersey studio and its planned PA studio.
According to a press release from Evolution Gaming, players on desktop, tablet and smartphone in PA and NJ will be able to play “casino favorites” such as:
- Roulette
- Blackjack
- Poker variants
- Exclusive titles and games from the full Evolution live games portfolio
Matt Cullen, Senior Vice President, Interactive Gaming and Sports at Parx Casino commented:
“Parx was the first Pennsylvania casino to offer RNG Blackjack games online, so extending our online offering to include world-leading Live Casino from Evolution is a natural next step. Our online Blackjack player base in particular will love Evolution’s Live Blackjack offering, which includes Infinite Blackjack, with no limit on the number of seats available at the table, as well as several other Blackjack variants. Overall, we are very confident that all the players types will be very excited by the rollout of Parx Live Casino in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.”
Parx adds stepper titles
A common New Year’s resolution is to lose weight, but in the case of PA online casinos, they need to beef up their paltry libraries. Other news out of Parx this week shows that it plans to help that cause by adding to its online library.
Everi Holdings, a provider of casino games and equipment, announced a selection of exclusive gaming content would be launched with Parx Casino.
It includes five stepper titles:
- Double Jackpot
- Meltdown
- Smokin 777
- Tiger 7s
- Vortex
The new slots provide a small boost to PA’s online slots selection which pales in comparison to New Jersey online rosters. However, it’s something for Pennsylvanians looking for more choices.
Parx Online plans to introduce additional slots following the initial launch including exclusive games such as Star Magic and Sapphire Spin.
Everi and Parx online
Everi’s remote gaming server (RGS) has over thirty titles and expects to continue expanding the list of offerings. The game provider’s RGS lets the company create and distribute content players want straight to operators – content which includes award-winning three-reel mechanical games and video slots.
Players can expect the same game experience on their mobile devices as they would get in-person at a brick-and-mortar casino. For operators, the RGS features data analytics, real-time reporting and can support custom-built games.
David Lucchese, Everi’s Executive Vice President, Digital and Interactive Business leader said:
“We are excited to have Parx Online fully integrated with our remote game server (RGS), enabling us to directly deliver some of our highest performing land-based three-reel mechanical and video titles to their online player community. The addition of one of the premier online and land-based casinos in Pennsylvania to our RGS speaks to the power of our state-of-the art platform and our deep library of high performing slot games.”
Revenue and tax rates for PA slots and table games
Parx was the second online casino to launch when it came to the market in mid-July 2019. Since then, it’s seen month-over-month gains in wagers placed and revenue. However, out of PA’s five online casinos, it placed third in November in terms of wagers placed and revenue. Rivers Casino Philadelphia (formerly Sugarhouse) led the pack with $64 million in slot play and $2 million in revenue.
Parx Online Slots | Wagers Received | Gross Revenue |
---|---|---|
July | $9,983,108 | $139,903 |
August | $17,561,054 | $543,647 |
September | $18,852,274 | $763,911 |
October | $24,115,663 | $529,825 |
November | $23,386,827 | $890,471 |
In terms of online table games, in November, Parx received $32 million in wagers and made $605,ooo in revenue. Rivers Casino Philadelphia ranked top for online table games with $84 million in wagers and $1 million in revenue.
Table games are subject to a much lower tax rate than some of the other other online options:
Pennsylvania online gambling tax rates:
- Online slots: 54%
- Sports betting: 36%
- Online table games: 16%
Will live dealer games and exclusive gaming content propel Parx to the top of the pack? We’ll have to wait a few months to see but there is no doubt that Parx Online has big plans for 2020.
