She started her career reporting on sports and regional news for Philadelphia-area newspapers and magazines in the mid-2000s.
As a lead writer and managing editor for PlayPennsylvania, Katie has been at the forefront of breaking news in the PA gambling industry. She broke the stories of DraftKings launching its sportsbook in Pennsylvania along with the long-awaited arrival of online poker in Pennsylvania with the debut of PokerStars. On-the-ground reporting led Katie to exclusively break the news of the Barstool-branded bar in Philadelphia and Parx Casino’s plans to add a hotel.
