Two Adios Week winners at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows moved into the latest Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll. The result gives the Washington County track a pair of new Top 10 horses.
The Week 7 poll, released July 29, kept Brandon Blvd in the No. 1 spot. Brandon Blvd received 16 of 35 first-place votes. On To Norway remained No. 2 with 13 first-place votes.
Meadows Horses Move Up in the Rankings
For Pennsylvania racing fans, the local headline comes from lower in the rankings after the Adios card at The Meadows. Al Papi debuted at No. 8. The horse won the Grade 1 Delvin Miller Adios. Be Perfect BG entered at No. 10. The horse won a division of the Grade 3 Mickey Burke Adioo Volo.
Miki And Minnie climbed from No. 5 to No. 3 in the updated poll. Odds On Mr Mamba also stayed in the Top 10. The horse finished third in the Adios. Loua Dipa moved to No. 5. The horse finished seventh in that race. Lexus Kody and Super Chapter dropped out of the rankings.
Poll Mechanics and Horse Records
The poll is updated weekly on Wednesdays through the Grand Circuit season. It uses a 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 voting format. It does not decide year-end honors.
The source report said the United States Harness Writers Association votes on Dan Patch Award division winners, along with U.S. Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year, and Horse of the Year.
Among the horses in the latest update, Brandon Blvd owns a 6-4-2-0 record with $681,330 in earnings. On To Norway is 7-6-1-0 with $392,250. Al Papi is now 9-2-3-2 with $538,843 in earnings. Be Perfect BG is 7-5-2-0 with $271,345.
