Why we don't recommend PABets via TVG:
  • Dated interface compared with modern racing apps
  • Fewer integrated features for multi-product bettors
  • FanDuel Racing a better overall option

We don’t currently recommend PABets for Pennsylvania horse bettors, as the platform has largely been superseded by FanDuel Racing and no longer offers the best experience for modern bettors. While PABets horse racing (formerly TVG’s local portal) is still accessible, the newer FanDuel Racing app offers a smoother interface, stronger promotions, and better long-term support. For these reasons, TVG PABets isn’t our top pick — FanDuel Racing is the superior option for PA wagering.

PABets software

TVG offers the premier racebook software in the country for betting and watching races.

The main page makes it easy to find upcoming races, available promotions, and featured content, whether you’re on a desktop or a mobile device.

Featured Track info tells you everything you need to know, and TVG Picks gives expert tips for wagering on those races.

Carry-over pool information is easily accessible for those expecting big paydays, and all imminent races are prominently displayed.

You have the option to watch live streams in a small window on the page or in full screen. Additionally, the entire site is accessible through drop-down menus located at the top of the page.

There’s even a “Handicapping” menu helping you do some race analysis before you bet, featuring free past performance info, race replays, TVG picks, and the TVG blog.

Users will find it easy to watch TVG or any racing action. The page also features a live Twitter feed featuring info from the tracks.

The site is easy to navigate and offers everything. It gives you the ability to move from race to race and bet on them all with ease. The focus is streaming, so you’re not likely to miss sweating your bets. However, placing bets is just as easy. Just click on your selection, choose your bet and stake, and confirm it to complete the PABets horse racing experience.

PABets sports betting PA app review.

TVG offers mobile betting apps compatible with both iOS and Android devices, enabling users to bet from any device.

Apple users can download the app directly from the App Store. Android users need to download the app from a link on the TVG website.

The apps are intuitive and easy to use. Users can swipe through menus and navigate by tapping the screen.

All the live streaming horse races available on the browser can be found by tapping the “Live” tab. Simulcasts appear at the top of the screen, and the betting interface is available at the bottom. Handicapping information can also be found below.

The TVG mobile betting app also offers “Race Alerts,” giving you a five-minute warning before post time for your favorite races and another notification when the result is official. Of course, these notifications can be toggled on or off.

Overall, the TVG mobile betting app delivers the horse racing watching and betting experience into the palm of your hand. This allows users to stream the TVG Network in HD and watch the action from over 300 tracks from anywhere they have internet access. Plus, users can easily bet from any device and be a part of the more than $100 million in bets placed on TVG annually.

Betting options at PABets

PABets is truly the home of horse racing in Pennsylvania. The simulcast lineup is comprehensive, allowing you to watch and bet on races from across the globe. That means the US, UK, South Africa, France, and more, all the way to Australia.

The biggest horse racing facilities in the US are represented, including:

  • Belmont Park
  • Churchill Downs Racetrack
  • Gulfstream Park
  • Monmouth Park Racetrack
  • Saratoga Race Course
  • Santa Anita Park

In fact, PABets has action from as many as 300 tracks worldwide.

Betting at TVG is linked directly to the pari-mutuel pools at the tracks, which means the most common bet types are all available, including:

  • Win: Betting on a horse to come in first.
  • Place: Betting on a horse to go in first or second.
  • Show: Betting on a horse to go in first, second, or third.
  • Exacta: Betting on two horses to come first and second in that order.
  • Quinella: Betting on two horses to come first and second in any order.
  • Trifecta: Betting on three horses to go in first, second, and third in that order.
  • Superfecta: Betting on four horses to come first, second, third, fourth in that order.

Additional options, including box, key, or wheel, are available for exacta, trifecta, and superfecta bets, allowing flexibility on order at lower payouts.

Further betting options include:

  • Daily Double: Betting on the winners of each of the first two races at one track.
  • Pick 3/4/5/6/7/8: Betting on the winners of a series of consecutive races, from three to eight races. These pools roll over, making for some huge paydays.

TVG is a horse racing site, which means you won’t find NFL or NBA lines here. Except for some greyhound racing, which is legal (Not in PA), all the betting markets and content are specific to horse racing, making it the most comprehensive in that industry.

TVG launched as a horse racing TV channel in July 1999. TVG also offers wagering services, which are legal and regulated, to TVG account holders. These account holders can wager online at TVG.com, by landline, or via mobile phone. This includes PABets.com in Pennsylvania.

After several ownership changes, TVG was acquired by Betfair in 2009. Betfair has since acquired competitors and consolidated them into TVG.

TVG has actually been involved in horse racing betting since 1993. The company is now licensed to offer online and telephone pari-mutuel wagering services in 30 US states.

PABets powered by TVG has become the premier PA online horse racing betting business and digital cable and satellite horse racing television network. It is owned by FanDuel Group, the US Division of Flutter Entertainment, formerly Betfair.

It is the PA home for watching and wagering on local and premier horse racing events around the globe, including The Kentucky Derby, Belmont Stakes, Preakness Stakes, and the Breeders’ Cup.
