Rishva Iyer is packing her bags and heading to the Bahamas this winter. Iyer is the latest player to be rewarded with a PokerStars Platinum Pass, a package worth $30,000 to play in a $25K poker event in the Bahamas.
The 24-year-old poker player from Philly won it in a Road to PSPC women’s event at Live! Casino Pennsylvania on Sunday.
Iyer bested a field of 120 players to earn $5,840 and the coveted bonus prize. The pass now awards her a complete tournament and travel package for the PokerStars Players NL Hold’em Championship (PSPC).
“I’m a regular here at Live! so I’m always checking for events and I saw there was a ladies event and I thought I can’t miss this, I have to play it,” Iyer said after the win. “I try to play the big tournaments now and then, but I don’t study them as much and I don’t have that much experience at all, so it was kind of tough, but it’s always fun.”

Live! Casino Philadelphia Women’s Event is a Win
Iyer was excited to play the ladies event after hearing about it when it was announced at Philadelphia Live! She normally is a cash player at the casino but couldn’t resist getting in on the action.
Iyer made the final table as chip leader and realized that the prize package was in reach. Iyer discussed the outcome and what led up to the win with PokerStars Team Pro Jen Shahade.
“It all started to get real then,” Iyer told Shahade. Watch the full interview via Twitter below.
The Ladies event was a hit among local women in the area. Players were excited to be a part of the monumental tournament. But it wasn’t just local ladies joining in on the fun.
Pro players like Julie Ann Cornelius made the trip to compete for the Platinum Pass. Cornelius fell just short in third but had nothing but positive things to say on Twitter about her experience.
More Platinum Pass live events to come in Pennsylvania
For players that missed out on the pass, players will have two more chances in Pennsylvania to grab a pass.
- October 13-16: $360 Main Event at Live! Casino Philadelphia ($200K guaranteed)
- October 27-30: $360 buy-in at Live! Casino Pittsburgh in Greensburg, PA
Philadelphia is expecting big crowds this weekend. Between the Philadelphia Phillies Playoff Series happening at home against the Atlanta Braves and the Platinum Pass tournament, expect Live! Philadelphia to be jam-packed.
Live! is located across the lot from Citizens Bank Park. Parking is generally $25 on game day at the casino unless a player has an upgraded rewards card. Plan accordingly!
