Live, online poker PA options remain solid
Pennsylvania fell to the No. 2 online poker market in the US late last year after Michigan surpassed it in total market share. It’s unlikely to regain the top spot unless it joins Delaware, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey and West Virginia in the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA). Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like it will happen any time soon.
However, the $1.5 million guaranteed Winter Series shows that Pennsylvania online poker is still a healthy, attractive market, even if it isn’t growing as much as its competitors.
Live poker also has a strong footing in the Northeast, especially in the Philly area. January features more than $600,000 in guaranteed events at Live! Casino Philadelphia and Rivers Philly. Rivers’ sister casino in Pittsburgh has a multi-flight event at the end of the month on top of its regularly scheduled daily tournaments.
