The $1.348 billion Mega Millions jackpot was just hit on a ticket sold in Maine. This was the first Mega Millions jackpot ever won in the state.
On Friday, Jan. 13, a single ticket matched all six numbers drawn to win the prize, which ranks as the second-largest jackpot in the game’s history. If the winner chooses the cash option, they’ll get $723.5 million, before withholding.
Friday’s jackpot was the fourth Mega Millions prize to climb above $1 billion. The record highest jackpot remains at $1.537 billion, won by a single ticket in South Carolina on Oct. 23, 2018.

Recent Mega Millions drawings and winners
On Friday night, 14 tickets matched all five white balls to win the second-tier prize of $1 million, including one such winner in PA. In addition, four were sold in New York, two in California, and one each in Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, North Carolina and Texas.
Other big winners in PA include four players who matched four of the five white balls, plus the Mega Ball, with the Megaplier. Those players hit $20,000 each. Megaplier is the $1 ticket add-on that multiplies all prizes other than the jackpot.
Remember when checking your tickets that the numbers don’t have to be in any particular order, since they all they come from a single pool of numbers. Your Mega Ball number is the only exception: it must match the final ball drawn, the yellow Mega Ball.
