At Harrah’s Philadelphia Casino & Racetrack, William Hill Sports Book is now in business. The newly rebranded sports betting space now houses The Book, its premier sportsbook lounge, located just off the casino floor.
The addition of the William Hill branding to Harrah’s retail sportsbook comes weeks after parent company Caesars Entertainment announced its plan to purchase the British bookmaker.
Caesars’ purchase of Hill was worth $3.7 billion. The deal is expected to close in the second half of 2021 following regulatory approvals.
Planting the William Hill flag a second time
While Hill already had a presence in nearby New Jersey; this is a renewed flag for them in PA.
Penn National Gaming‘s sportsbooks at the Meadows Casino and Hollywood Casino had been Hill locations until last October. Penn and Hill were the first to apply for a sports betting license in PA back in August of 2018. But Kambi now powers Penn’s in-house retail books.
There are now 12 retail sports betting locations, and PA also has 10 online sportsbook operators.
William Hill in 14 states
The opening at Harrah’s means Hill is now in 14 states with operating sportsbooks. Hill has 160 locations across the country.
The Harrah’s facility under the Hill brand name offers six ticket windows, plus 16 self-service kiosks. Hill is offering an expanded option of in-play wagering.
Within the space, Harrah’s, which is in the Philadelphia suburb of Chester, continues to operate The Book, a lounge that includes stadium lounge seats, high-top tables, custom bar seating and more than 45 large-screen TVs.
Caesars still operating its own mobile app
Sports fans can also continue to bet online through the Caesars Casino & Sportsbook by Harrah’s Philadelphia mobile app.
