Upper Merion police had been eyeing suspects at Valley Forge Casino parking lot
The police department had received a tip about the suspected prostitution at Valley Forge Casino. On March 27 at around 10:15 p.m., police made two arrests that involved three suspects. The Upper Merion Police released particulars of the event:
“Detectives soon learned that a female that was advertising online had an active warrant for drugs from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department. Surveillance was established in the parking lot and detectives soon observed a female exiting the hotel that matched the description of the wanted person. With the assistance from patrol officers, they stopped and asked the female for identification.”
Further, the woman then provided police with false identification and resisted arrest. And, police also found drugs on the woman when taking her into custody. She was charged with the following crimes:
- False ID to Law Enforcement
- Resisting arrest
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Drug possession
As well, the man arrested in the case was also found with drugs. And, he had an active warrant in Philadelphia for drug-related charges. He was charged with drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Finally, the third suspect, and second male, was cleared after investigation and released at the scene.
Valley Forge Casino did not immediately respond to request seeking comment
Crime at any Pennsylvania casino is putting others at risk. When prostitution and drugs are the center of a violation, it can threaten the safety of innocent bystanders.
PlayPennsylvania asked Valley Forge Casino on Friday morning how it can prevent occurrences like this from happening again. Our requests were not immediately answered, but we will update this story if the casino responds.
