Once again, the previous Powerball drawing resulted in no jackpot winner. Now, the top prize has crossed into top ten territory. Tonight’s prize, for Monday, July 10, will be the ninth-largest Powerball jackpot in history at $675 million. The lump sum cash value of the prize is $340.9 million, before withholding.
The draw game has awarded four jackpot prizes so far this year. A ticket sold in Ohio hit the last big prize of $252.6 million on April 19. It has now been over 11 weeks since the last jackpot win, allowing the prize to reach nearly double the previous jackpot in this current run.

Recent Powerball drawings and winners
In the previous drawing on Saturday night, three separate tickets matched all five white balls to win the second-tier prize of $1 million. Those winning tickets were sold in California, Colorado and Illinois. With more people buying tickets due to the skyrocketing jackpot, we tend to see more winners across the board, including at the $1 million level.
Last Wednesday, three tickets also hit the $1 million prize. Those lucky players bought their tickets in Ohio, New York and Florida.
No tickets hit the second-tier prize with Power Play on either day, though, which would have doubled the prize for those winners.
Tickets can match any of the first five numbers in any order. Make ticket checking easier by using the PA iLottery mobile app, or buy tickets online to get automatic notifications.

Powerball jackpot odds
There are nine ways to win a prize on your Powerball ticket. Overall, the odds of winning any prize are about 1 in 25. Below the jackpot, prizes range from $4 for only matching the red Powerball, up to $1 million for matching the first five white balls. The $1 Power Play add-on will multiply any prize won other than the jackpot.
The jackpot odds are 1 in 292.2 million. You’d have to get very lucky to hit it. By contrast, the second-tier prize has odds of about 1 in 12 million, but many drawings go by without a single second-tier winner.
Your odds of winning with a single ticket are always the same. It doesn’t matter how high the jackpot is or how many tickets are sold. More tickets sold sometimes results in more than one ticket hitting the jackpot. When that happens, each winner gets an even share of the total jackpot.
Where to buy Powerball tickets
Powerball tickets are sold in 45 states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Tickets are $2 per play, unless you add Power Play for an additional $1.
About half of the proceeds from sales stay in the state where the ticket was sold. State lotteries pay out the prizes won in each state. Jackpots are paid from the proceeds that go to Powerball.
State lotteries use profits to fund education, environmental and other programs. In PA, lottery profits go to fund programs and other benefits for senior citizens in the state.
