Check Mega Millions Winning Numbers For Friday, July 7; Jackpot Grows To $450 Million

Written By Staff on June 2, 2023 - Last Updated on July 8, 2023
With the Mega Millions drawing worth over $1.2 billion, PlayPennsylvania disproved a few common jackpot strategies.

Another Mega Millions drawing went by on Tuesday with no jackpot winner. The top prize grows again for tonight’s drawing, Friday, July 7. The jackpot now up for grabs is $450 million. If there’s a jackpot winner tonight, the lucky player can choose to take the cash option of $225.6 million, before withholding.

There have been five Mega Millions jackpots awarded so far this year, a rate of about one per month. Four of them were hit in the month of January. The last jackpot winner bought their ticket for the April 14 drawing in Texas and won $483 million. It has now been 12 weeks since that big win, which has allowed the jackpot to soar over $400 million.

Will this be your lucky day? Check the Mega Millions winning numbers below on Tuesday and Friday after the drawing at 11 p.m. ET.

Recent Mega Millions drawings and winners

Tuesday’s drawing had some big time winners, though no jackpot winner. One ticket, sold in Idaho, matched all five white balls, but not the Mega Ball. The player bought their ticket with the optional Megaplier add-on, which made their prize worth $3 million.

Another ticket matched the first five without the Megaplier to win the usual prize of $1 million. That winning ticket was sold in Missouri.

As the jackpot soars higher, ticket sales across the country increase. More people playing means more winners, so if the jackpot continues to evade participants, we’ll likely have additional winners of $1 million or more. Keep in mind that the chances of a single ticket winning any prize are always the same, as explained below.

Remember that the first five numbers on your ticket are printed in sequential order. You can match those numbers in any order. The Mega Ball number is the only exception. That ball is drawn last, from a separate pool of 25 numbers, and must match your ticket’s final number.

Mega Millions prizes and odds

There are nine ways to win some money on the draw game. Matching even one or two numbers will win a small prize. Matching two white balls won’t get you anything, but a white ball plus the Mega Ball wins $4. Securing only the Mega Ball pays $2. You get into the real money if you match three white balls, plus the Mega Ball. That wins $200. Four white balls wins $500, and the prizes grow from there.

The odds of winning any prize on one ticket are 1 in 24. The odds of hitting the jackpot are 1 in 302.5 million. To hit the second-tier prize of $1 million, you face odds of 1 in 12.5 million.

The popular draw game costs $2 a play. Tickets are sold in 45 states, Washington D.C. and the US Virgin Islands.
