Sands agrees to sell Bethlehem Casino to Alabama Tribe

Posted By admin on January 25, 2019

Las Vegas Sands Corp. shocked the Pennsylvania gaming industry when it announced it was selling Bethlehem Casino. The shock wasn’t the sale, but the buyer. The rumor was the MGM was interested and more than eager to enter the PA gaming market. Unfortunately, the deal didn’t go anywhere. Instead, Wind Creek Entertainment, an affiliate of Poarch Band of Creek Indians of Alabama stepped up with a $1.3 billion check. Three months after the big news, Bethlehem Casino’s casino operator’s license was renewed for five years because of its good standing with the PGCB. Interesting enough, the pending sale was not mentioned as Sands outlined its investment in the property, charitable contributions, and employment statistics. Sands has yet to file a change of ownership with the PGCB.
