The Process is dead. At least it seems that way. Ben Simmons has spent the past couple of weeks seemingly burning all the bridges that could bring him back to the Philadelphia 76ers.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Simmons intends to sit out training camp (which began Tuesday) and doesn’t plan to play another game for the Sixers. Another report from Shams Charania of The Athletic stated that Sixers stars Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris (and others) hoped to visit Simmons in Los Angeles, but Simmons reportedly told them not to come.

So the Sixers’ infamous process, which started with tanked seasons, led to the drafting of Embiid and Simmons, and never got past the second round of the NBA playoffs, is dead.

ESPN has even laid out a number of trade scenarios that the Sixers might explore. BetMGM put up odds on Simmons next team. However, due to PA gaming regulations, you can not bet on where a player will be traded. But there are plenty of other ways to bet on the Sixers at Pennsylvania sports betting apps.

Philadelphia 76ers 2021-22 season win totals

Currently, some Pennsylvania online sportsbooks have the Sixers win total off the board while they wait for the Simmons drama to fully unfold. However, Fox Bet does have a total posted for Philadelphia with the team’s over/under listed at 51.5. Both the “over” and “under” are priced at -110.

For comparison, here are some of the other totals posted for notable teams:

  • Brooklyn: 55.5
  • Milwaukee: 54.5
  • Atlanta: 47.5
  • LA Lakers: 52.5
  • LA Clippers: 44.5
  • Phoenix: 51.5
  • Golden State: 47.5

Philadelphia Sixers 2022 playoff odds

Even with the uncertainty surrounding Philadelphia’s roster, Pennsylvania sportsbooks expect the Sixers to make the playoffs. DraftKings PA Sportsbook has the odds on Philadelphia making the playoffs priced at -2000. “No” (or missing the playoffs) is listed at +1000.

And even without Simmons, the Sixers roster still includes Embiid, Harris, Tyrese Maxey, Seth Curry, and Matisse Thybulle. That core should be enough to put the Sixers in the middle of the Eastern Conference. In addition, most trade projections involving Simmons would provide a a talented player that should be able to contribute immediately.

Sixers 2022 Eastern Conference and Championship odds

In Eastern Conference futures, the Sixers are currently third at DraftKings Sportsbook with a price of +750. The Brooklyn Nets are +100 and the Bucks are +390.
