New GM at Rivers Casino Philadelphia
On Monday, Rivers Casino Philadelphia (formerly SugarHouse Casino) announced that Eric Fitzgerald will become the casino’s new general manager (pending a review from the Pennsylvania Gaming and Control Board). He also worked as president and COO of the Circus Circus Hotel & Casino and was the senior VP of operations for Luxor/Excalibur Hotel & Casino.

Busy stretch for Rush Street Interactive, which may go public soon
Rush Street Interactive (RSI), the parent company for Rivers Philadelphia, has been involved in a flurry of activity recently. In July, Bloomberg News and other outlets reported that the company is planning to go public through a merger with blank-check company dMY Technology Group Inc.
The offering should soon be listed on the New York Stock Exchange as $RSI and has an estimated valuation of $1.78 billion, according to US Poker.
Phil Helmuth invests in Rush Street, hints at online poker launch
Phil Helmuth, a champion poker player who invested in Rush Street’s public offering, announced that he expects RSI to soon offer online poker in the US.
As noted in the article from US Poker, Rush Street leads the entire country in online casino gaming and also offers sports betting in several states, including Pennsylvania, New York and Illinois. According to Hellmuth:
“Rush Street is a leader in sports betting, but it’s actually the number one player in the online casino space. We are bigger than DraftKings or FanDuel or anybody else when it comes to online table games, slots, bingo, etc.”
BetRivers recently partnered with the Penguins in Pittsburgh
The Rush Street Brand also expanded its reach in Pittsburgh last week. Rivers Casino Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Penguins announced that the team’s PPG Paints Arena will soon feature a state-of-the-art BetRivers sportsbook lounge.
In addition to the lounge, Rivers Pittsburgh becomes the official casino and sportsbook of the Penguins.
The NHL’s next season should arrive in 2021
The Tampa Bay Lightning recently won the Stanley Cup, following a series of playoffs in two bubble cities in Canada. Fans were not allowed in the arenas.
And on Tuesday, the NHL’s public relations team announced that the league and its players’ association are targeting Jan. 1, 2021, as the start date for its next season.
There are no details yet regarding fans, but it’s possible that could be the grand opening of the BetRivers lounge.
According to the article on PlayPennsylvania, the new BetRivers lounge will be at the top of PPG Arena’s Section 120, which lost several rows to make room for the space. The lounge will feature two rows of luxury seating, a bar and multiple live-action screens.
Fans can watch the Penguins games live in the lower bowl, with the ability to monitor NHL bets in person. Visitors will be encouraged to wager online via the BetRivers online sports betting app.
“Rivers Casino Pittsburgh’s proud partnership with the Penguins dates back to our grand opening,” said Bill Keena, general manager of Rivers Casino Pittsburgh. “The new BetRivers Lounge at PPG Paints Arena takes this long-standing relationship to a whole new level — literally.”
The BetRivers brand is a safe bet to continue expanding
It’s been a busy few months for Rush Street Interactive and the BetRivers brand. But the action shouldn’t end any time soon. The sports betting and gaming industries have become hot commodities on the stock market. Partnerships with professional sports teams have become more commonplace. It seems a new one is arriving every week.
There are new opportunities for growth, and brand building everywhere you look.
And the Rush Street Interactive group is expanding in every direction.
In Philadelphia, it’s bringing in a little bit of Las Vegas. In Pittsburgh, it’s growing closer to the Penguins. And in New York, it should soon land on Wall Street.
Rush Street Interactive is a busy brand.
And it’s nowhere near done.
The best is likely yet to come.
