One of Pennsylvania’s leading online casino operators recently expanded its game catalog via a partnership with Relax Gaming. On Tuesday, the Swedish supplier officially went live through BetMGM Casino PA.
The move comes one month after RLX Gaming, as it’s known in the US market, gained interim approval from the Pennsylvania Gambling Commission Board to conduct business in The Keystone State.
The multiple-award-winning game provider currently offers more than 4,000 online casino games through its partners worldwide.
PA joins New Jersey as only state to feature Relax products
While important for BetMGM, the arrival of RLX is also significant for the PA online casino market. The bustling iGaming jurisdiction became the second region in the United States to offer RLX’s array of casino game content.
The international supplier originally joined the US market when it launched in New Jersey back in December, also with BetMGM.
“We are very happy to take the next step in RLX Gaming’s expansion which is growing at pace.” said RLX Gaming Chief Regulatory Officer Alexia Smilovic Ronde in a press release.
“Pennsylvania is a key stage in our journey to growing our footprint in the North American regulated market.
“The interim authorization process with PGCB was completed in the space of a few months and is a testimony to our capacity in securing fast time to market in a complex environment and we are delighted that we are now ready to go live within the state.”
Relax brings new games to PA after prioritizing entry
As part of the deal, several of RLX’s exclusive titles are on their way to Pennsylvania via BetMGM’s digital platform.
According to Oliver Bartlett, Vice President of Gaming Product & Content at BetMGM, this includes popular options such as The Great Pigsby and Epic Joker.
These titles, in particular, have gone over well with New Jersey players, and now Pennsylvanians can access them too.
Like most international operators eyeing US expansion, RLX prioritized access to Pennsylvania.
“We’re extremely excited to continue our US ambitions with the go live in Pennsylvania,” said RLX Gaming CEO Martin Stålros.
“We have had a very encouraging start in New Jersey together with BetMGM and we’re delighted that our games resonate so well in the market.
“Launching in a new state allows us to continue our upward trajectory and progress further in the US market in 2024.”
Only time will tell what kind of impact RLX’s presence will have on BetMGM’s bottom line, or more specifically that of its licensee Hollywood Penn International – the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board breaks down by license and not operator.
Either way, RLX’s arrival is at the very least a testament to the intercontinental attractiveness of Pennsylvania’s online gambling market.
