PA Lottery awards largest online prize ever

A Luzerne County Mega Millions player hit the biggest prize ever awarded through PA Online Lottery on Tuesday. Their ticket matched the first five numbers drawn, 4-19-39-42-52, to win the second-tier prize. Luckily, this player paid the extra $1 for the Megaplier option on their ticket. The Megaplier drawn was 4, (the second-highest possible) boosting the prize to $4 million.

Only two other players, from TX and NC, hit the Match 5 + Megaplier for the same prize amount. There was no jackpot winner.

The PA Lottery has been offering online ticket sales and instant win games for almost four years. In the 2020-2021 fiscal year, online players claimed more than $772 million in winnings.
