A Fortune Pai Gow Poker Progressive jackpot paid out nearly $1.4 million to a lucky player earlier this week at Rivers Casino Pittsburgh. It is the largest Pai Gow jackpot ever hit at the Pennsylvania casino, which also set a new property record.

PA online casinos can offer their fair share of notable prizes. However, this type of retail jackpot being hit is extremely rare.

Rivers Casino Pittsburgh set a new record in the wee hours of Sunday morning, when a poker player won the Fortune Pai Gow jackpot. At 2:45 a.m., a guest hit for exactly $1,391,967.largest pai gow jackpot ever won at Rivers Casino Pittsburgh

In a press release emailed to PlayPennsylvania, Fortune Pai Gow is explained as:

“Pai Gow Poker uses playing cards instead of traditional Pai Gow Chinese dominoes. It features head-to-head play against the dealer and an optional bonus bet, which triggers the jackpot. Players and the dealer each get seven cards to make two poker hands — a five-card ‘high’ hand and a two-card ‘low’ hand.”

A local Pittsburgh guest won on a seven-card straight flush. The winning cards were 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5 and 4 of clubs. The player had also placed two optional $5 side wagers, accounting for $25,000 and $3,000 of the total winnings.

Rivers Casino Pittsburgh assistant general manager, Andre Barnabei, said in the press release:

“It’s such a fun and momentous experience watching a jackpot grow until it finally hits. Congrats to our local guest and also to our Rivers Pittsburgh dealers and Team Members for always doing a great job.”

Other recent sizable jackpots at Rivers Casino Pittsburgh

The Fortune Pai Gow Poker Progressive jackpot has been steadily increasing since April 24, 2017. The jackpot had been won previously, however, this is the first time it’s been paid out in full. Another player claimed 10% of the jackpot in August 2020, which delivered $92,196.72, after showing a winning hand with five aces.

Rivers Casino Pittsburgh holds the US record for the largest bad beat jackpot. The property distributed $1.2 million in August 2022, with one player taking home $490,708 and another $368,029. The remaining six players at the table each won $61,338.

In addition to the Fortune Pai Gow jackpot, Rivers Pittsburgh offers other generous jackpots. Just last month, a Mississippi Stud player earned $783,319 after a royal flush. The second- and third-largest jackpots last month awarded to table games players were $168,690 and $80,816, earned in Ultimate Texas Hold’em and Mississippi Stud, respectively.

The largest slot winner in December walked away with $139,456, playing Lock It Link: Eureka Reel Blast.

In total, Rivers Casino Pittsburgh distributed 171 slot jackpots of $10,000 or more last month.

Rivers Pittsburgh is clearly a great place to win worthwhile payouts.
