Recapping Bally’s First 6 Months In Pennsylvania Online Casino Market

The year 2023 has been a year of firsts for online casinos in Pennsylvania. Since launching in June, Bally’s Casino has contributed to Pennsylvania becoming the most robust online casino market in the country.

Bally’s might not get the headlines bigger Pennsylvania online casinos get.

However, the operator has created a niche in the market and hopes it has a long and successful stay.

Bally’s is gaining footing within PA online casino market

In the midst of PA online casinos breaking a US record in November, generating $191.9 million, Bally Casino PA set its high mark last month, too. The operator produced $2.6 million in revenue.

Bally’s does not get the recognition of bigger-brand operators, but that doesn’t mean the company won’t succeed in the Keystone State. Bally’s has been in the Pennsylvania market for six months, after an early June launch, and has displayed consistent results.

Here are the revenue figures for each month:

  • June: $908,697
  • July: $1.9 million
  • August: $2.6 million
  • September: $2.2 million
  • October: $2.4 million
  • November: $2.6 million

Bally’s has been making gradual improvements since debuting. November’s total beat out August’s by more than $70,000.

In total, Bally’s has achieved $12.7 million in yearly revenue, with one month left. Despite the operator launching in June, it has been fully live for five months. Over a 12-month span, Bally’s is on pace to generate $28 million.

With more time, Bally’s is trending toward producing $3 million of revenue in a single month. Should it do that, it’ll be in company with PlayLive! Casino PA, and not far off from Golden Nugget Casino PA, which launched a month after Bally’s.

What Bally’s has done to strengthen its position in Pennsylvania

It’s going to take time for smaller operators to get off the ground, especially in the Keystone State. Bally’s is currently 15th out of 20 platforms in the number of PA slots games. It’s trying to build its portfolio of titles, though.

Bally’s recently partnered with Gaming Realms, which provides exciting slingo games, in September. Players have nine slingo games to choose from on Bally’s, which include:

  • Book of Slingo
  • Inca Trail
  • Soldier of Rome
  • Shark Week
  • Starburst
  • Stinkin’ Rich
  • Sweet Bonanza
  • XXXtreme

The operator reported encouraging Q3 results during an earnings call last month. Some of those highlights included:

  • Its Pennsylvania app hit over 10,000 unique monthly customers in Q3.
  • After 100 days, Pennsylvania deposit volumes were three times larger than Bally’s New Jersey’s first 100 days.
  • New customer volume, customer retention, and value in Pennsylvania continue to track above that of New Jersey.
  • Expected market share in Pennsylvania is already 1-2% in its first full quarter.

Bally’s is never likely to compete with the market giants of the gaming world, like DraftKings Casino PA or FanDuel Casino PA. However, the Keystone State is the perfect destination for under-the-radar operators like Bally’s.
