The Phillies going on another magical postseason run and a strong Eagles start is becoming a yearly tradition in October. Located inside the sports complex in South Philadelphia, much of the fan excitement spills over to Live! Casino Philadelphia. The South Philadelphia casino is on pace to record more than $10 million in retail handle this year.

Despite Live! Casino Philadelphia offering a platform among PA online casinos, the Phillies and Eagles are showing that people will flock to its retail location to celebrate the local sports teams.

Live! Casino Philadelphia needs more than $10.05M to break record

There is deja vu happening this October, as the Phillies are two wins away from the World Series and the Eagles are off to another strong start this season. It is almost a carbon copy of last October, when Live! Casino Philadelphia took in $10.05 million, breaking the retail sports betting handle record.

Bryan Newman, General Manager of FanDuel Sportsbook and Lounge at Live! Casino Philadelphia, said the casino is on pace for another $10+ million October.

“Last year, it took awhile for people to jump on board,” Newman told PlayPennsylvania. “Last year’s first and second round didn’t get nearly as much handle as this year’s first and second round. This year, with last year setting the precedence of going to the World Series, the excitement started a little earlier.”

Live! Philadelphia is going to have a busy weekend, with the NLCS shifting to Arizona on Thursday and continuing through Saturday. Then, to wrap up the weekend, the Eagles are facing the Miami Dolphins on Sunday Night Football, and will debut their alternate Kelly Green uniforms.

Phillies-Astros World Series would provide tons of foot traffic

There hasn’t been a World Series rematch since 1977-78, when the Yankees and Dodgers met in consecutive years. The Phillies and Astros have a chance to break that trend this postseason.

If the rematch does occur, the Phillies would have home field this time around, having beaten the Astros 2-1 in the regular season. Games 1 and 2 would be at Citizens Bank Park on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 27 and 28. If the Phillies play the Rangers, the Phils would not have home-field advantage and would open the series in Texas on those dates.

Should the Phillies finish off Arizona, Live! Casino Philadelphia is hoping for a weekend matchup with the Astros.

“Not only does the sportsbook benefit, but the entire property does, too,” Newman said. “The amount of people in the stadium district would double, even triple if it’s a weekend versus a weeknight.”

What’s going on at Live! Casino Philadelphia this weekend?

With the Phillies continuing their series in Arizona throughout the weekend and the Eagles facing the Dolphins, it’s going to be a busy time for Live! Casino Philadelphia. Should the Phillies reach the World Series, next weekend would be filled, too, with wall-to-wall action. The schedule would look like this:

  • Friday, Oct. 20: Phillies at Diamondbacks
  • Saturday, Oct. 21: Phillies at Diamondbacks
  • Sunday, Oct. 22: Dolphins at Eagles
  • Monday, Oct. 23: Diamondbacks at Phillies* (if necessary)
  • Tuesday, Oct. 24: Diamondbacks at Phillies* (if necessary)
  • Friday, Oct. 27: Phillies vs. Astros/Rangers
  • Saturday, Oct. 28: Phillies vs. Astros/Rangers
  • Sunday, Oct. 29: Eagles at Commanders

This Sunday, Live! Casino Philadelphia is hosting Ultimate Tailgate Parties courtesy of 97.5 The Fanatic. Tickets start at $99 and include food, drink and live entertainment. The experience also provides a live 97.5 The Fanatic broadcast with Eagles alumni.

The casino is also holding an Eagles promotion. If a guest places a $100 parlay on an Eagles home game day, they will receive one complimentary food voucher to use at Sports & Social. Guests can receive free parking with a $100 wager on a Phillies or Eagles game day, as well.

Live! Casino Philadelphia is becoming accustomed to busy and successful Octobers.
