Looks like the Mega Millions jackpot winner wasn’t the only big lottery jackpot winner this week.
The Powerball jackpot hit too, on Wednesday, Sept. 16, for $94.8 million, or $75.7 million cash value. The winning numbers were 10 – 17 – 31 – 51 – 53, with a Powerball of 1. The Power Play was 2X.
The winning ticket came from New York, out of a liquor store, no less. Minogue’s Beverage Center on Route 9 in Malta outside of Albany, NY, receives a nice bonus for selling the winner.
Also, a second-place ticket was sold in Texas with all five white balls matching, along with the $1 Power Play multiplier, which doubled the prize to $2 million.
$100K Powerball ticket sells in Luzerne County
Pennsylvania also holds the title of selling a hefty ticket for the Sept. 16 drawing. A $100,000 ticket was sold in Luzerne County, with the $1 Power Play option boosting what otherwise would have been a $50,000 prize.
Turkey Hill, at 1370 Wyoming Ave. in Forty Fort, receives a $500 bonus just for selling the winner.
Remember that we won’t know who the winner is until the prize is claimed. In PA, you have one year from the date of the drawing to claim your prize. You also need to sign the back of your lottery ticket and head to the nearest PA Lottery office.
