The winning numbers for May 16 were 8 – 12 – 26 – 39 – 42 and the powerball was 11. The power play multiplier was 2x.

No one matched all six numbers to claim the jackpot, but one lucky player in Delaware did manage to match all five white balls. That was worth a healthy $1 million. Twelve tickets matched four white balls and the powerball.

Eight of those, including one in PA, cashed in $50,000. Four of them had the $1 power play added to their tickets though to double the winnings to $100,000.

Powerball drawings take place every Wednesday and Saturday at 11 p.m. ET. Check back here for the winning numbers for May 20.

Winning numbers: 18 – 34 – 40 – 42 – 50 powerball 9

Power play multiplier: 2X

The Powerball and Mega Millions have some temporary changes in place due to COVID-19 precautions and closures. When the jackpot is hit, the Grand Prize will reset to $20 million, rather than the usual $40 million.

Roll amounts between drawings are now based on sales and interest rates, with no minimum guaranteed. But that’s not stopping the jackpots from continuing to climb at a good pace.

Overall chances of winning a prize is 1 in 24.87. Best of luck.
