Recent PA lottery jackpots

The PA Lottery announced three big winners in the state from recent drawings. On Sunday, two players hit the PA Lottery Treasure Hunt jackpot and will split the $133,000 prize. Those tickets sold in Beaver County and Philadelphia. In addition, a Cash 5 with Quick Cash ticket sold in Philadelphia hit the $418,000 jackpot on Monday.

Two of the three winning tickets were purchased in Philadelphia. If that sounds fishy, you might be interested to check out the PA Lottery Winner’s Map where they publish the prizes and total amounts won in every PA county.

The map currently shows data from the 2019-2020 fiscal year. However, you can see a list of individual prizes won in each county as recent as last month. For 2019-2020, the PA counties with the highest amount of money won from the PA Lottery were:

  1. Philadelphia: $365,137,968
  2. Allegheny: $311,440,809
  3. Montgomery: $139,365,433
  4. Bucks: $127,253,664
  5. Westmoreland: $119,724,069

The four counties with the most money won are also the top 4 most populous counties in Pennsylvania. The PA Lottery claims that prizes are randomly distributed throughout the state, and there’s no way to know who will win next. Of course, in the case of draw games, it comes down to who happens to pick the correct numbers. The Winner’s Map is just one way the PA Lottery illustrates their transparency for lottery players.
