Powerball is once again stirring up lots of excitement for lottery players across the country, as the jackpot soars to $285 million for Sept. 26. If there’s a winner in tonight’s drawing, they could choose to take the cash value of the prize in a single payment. The lump sum cash value tonight is estimated at $151.2 million before withholding.
On Saturday, six Powerball players raked in $1 million or more in the drawing. Tickets sold in California, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, and New Jersey all matched the first five white balls drawn, but not the red Powerball. Those players all won $1 million each.
Another lucky player in Indiana matched the same numbers, but paid an extra $1 for Power Play when buying their ticket. The Power Play option always doubles the $1 million prize to $2 million.

PA Lottery’s Cash 5 With Quick Cash awards another jackpot winner
Lotto players in Mechanicsburg should check their tickets, because one player there hit the Cash 5 With Quick Cash jackpot on Thursday, Sept. 22. That player has one year to claim their $250,000 prize. The winning numbers on Thursday were 2-9-20-36-39.
More than 9,100 other Cash 5 with Quick Cash tickets also won prizes in the drawing. The jackpot-winning ticket was sold at Turkey Hill on Carlisle Pike in Mechanicsburg. The retailer earns a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
Winners of PA Lottery games aren’t known until they claim their prize and have their ticket validated. Winners of large prizes should sign the back of their ticket and contact a lottery office.
