It’s Wednesday, and that means another big Powerball drawing tonight. No tickets hit the grand prize in the previous drawing, so the jackpot steps up once again to $251 million for Sept. 21. Jackpot winners have the choice to take the cash value of the prize in a single payment, instead of the annuity option. The lump sum cash value for tonight’s prize comes to $135.2 million, before withholding.
The previous drawing on Monday was relatively uneventful, with no second-tier winners in any state. To hit the second-tier prize, a ticket must match the first five white balls drawn, but not the red Powerball. That combination wins $1 million.
One player in Pennsylvania hit a big prize, matching five of the six total numbers. The PA player matched four of the five white balls, plus the Powerball, to win a prize of $50,000.
Powerball holds three drawings each week, on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday nights.

Yet another scratch-off ticket got a top prize winner this week. A player in Allegheny County hit a $1 million win on The Price Is Right, claiming the prize on Tuesday. The lucky player bought the ticket at 7-Eleven at 1710 Washington Road in Pittsburgh. The retailer gets a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
$1 Million The Price Is Right has a $20 price tag, and offers top prizes of $1 million. The game has been out for a while, but the PA Lottery website shows that two top prizes remain to be won on the ticket.
