Another day is here and the Powerball jackpot is rising and shattering previous records.

For Saturday, Dec. 16, the Powerball estimated jackpot reaches $640 million with a $478.7 million one-time cash option for the potential winner. This huge number marks the fifth-largest jackpot in Powerball history.

Ten millionaire second place ticket winners

Just because no one hit the big jackpot does not mean that there were no big winners. In fact, there were ten tickets across the country that matched all five white balls. The winning numbers for Wednesday, Jan. 13 were 4 – 19 – 23 – 25 – 49 and a red Powerball of 14.

Here are the states where the ten winners were sold:

  • California sold two winners
  • Colorado
  • Georgia
  • Michigan sold three winners
  • New York
  • Texas sold two winners

Additionally, another ticket from Virginia added on the $1 Power Play option which doubled the prize to $2 million.

Prizes range from as little as $4 to $2 million. More than 3.3 million tickets won prizes in the last drawing.

Powerball and Mega Millions online tickets

Drew Svitko, Pennsylvania Lottery Executive Director wants to remind everyone that Pennsylvanians have the option to buy Powerball and Mega Millions tickets through the PA online lottery.

“Our players have options to purchase their Powerball and Mega Millions tickets, whether they prefer to buy them online or visit one of our retailers to pick up their tickets in person. We’re reminding our players that it only takes one ticket to win, and the proceeds are helping us generate funds for programs that benefit older Pennsylvanians.”
