PA Lottery details the third drawing
Get ready for some changes to Powerball with some extra details from PA Lottery officials. To begin with, there is that third Monday drawing. However, there is another change that is coming as well.
Rather than the former $1 Power Play option, there is a $1 Double Play instead. This new feature offers players a chance to play the same set of numbers in the main Powerball drawing as well as the additional Double Play drawing. The separate drawing offers a top cash prize of $10 million. Note that the Double Play drawing will not be televised.
Finally, the number of advance draws that you can purchase has been decreasing. In fact, since May 26, advance draws have been steadily decreasing by one after each drawing. However, when the third Powerball drawing kicks off on Aug. 23, the decreasing will stop. At that point, the number of advance draws will be 20.
