Top winners in the November 27 drawing

Even though nobody won the $243 million jackpot in the Nov. 27 drawing, for one player in New Jersey and one player in California, it was a very happy Thanksgiving weekend. Both of these players correctly guessed all five white balls, but not the red Powerball, and won $1 million each. Had they sprung for an extra dollar on the winning ticket and paid $3 instead of $2, they would have won $2 million.

The last million-dollar Powerball winner in Pennsylvania

The last time a player from Pennsylvania had a million-dollar winning Powerball ticket was on October 7. Like the two top winners on November 27, the Pennsylvania player picked all five white balls but not the red Powerball. The ticket was sold in Northampton County.

Then, on October 18, a Powerball ticket sold in Lancaster County was worth $150,000. The lucky player matched four of the five white balls along with the red Powerball. That person did pay the extra dollar for the Power Play option. Otherwise, the ticket would have been worth $50,000. Instead, the 3x multiplier tripled the player’s winnings!
