Powerball Jackpot Soars To $346 Million For June 27; Check Your PA Lottery Tickets Before Unclaimed Prizes Expire

The current Powerball jackpot is now at $1 billion.

A crazy big Powerball jackpot win is on the horizon. Someone is bound to hit the Grand Prize eventually, which is currently approaching $350 million. For tonight’s drawing, June 27, the jackpot is estimated to be $346 million with a lump sum cash value of $196.7 million.

The current jackpot run has lasted two months so far. When the top prize reaches these heights, more people start buying tickets, which means more winners of lower-tier prizes and increased chances of someone hitting the jackpot.

In the previous drawing, there were a total of three $1 million winners. The winning tickets were sold in California, Minnesota, and West Virginia. To win $1 million on Powerball, players have to match all five white balls drawn. Matching the red Powerball as well wins the jackpot.

Check the Powerball winning numbers below, after the drawing at 11 p.m. ET.

$1 million Powerball prize claimed after four months

Speaking of $1 million winners, a lottery club in Michigan recently claimed a $1 million prize they won in a drawing on Feb. 14. The lottery-playing duo has been buying tickets for years, with an agreement that if they win a large prize, they’d split it.

Member John Kurz told Powerball, “We both purchase tickets and then check them whenever we get together for lunch.”

The other winner, Tammi Lenhausen, had forgotten all about the ticket she bought.

“I purchased a Powerball ticket and put it in my purse to check it the next time we got together. I completely forgot about the ticket until a few weeks ago, so we went to the store together to check it,” she said.

Sure enough, they matched the first five numbers in that February drawing. Lottery prizes eventually expire, so don’t forget to always check your tickets!

PA iLottery automatically notifies you of winnings

In Pennsylvania, tickets expire one year after the drawing, or the ticket’s end-sale date. When you buy PA Lottery tickets online, you’re automatically notified if you win. Most prizes are paid directly to your player account.
