The Powerball jackpot creeps past the $100 million mark for tonight’s drawing, coming in at an estimated $104 million for Jan. 29. If it’s paid out as a lump sum instead of an annuity, the total prize is $72.5 million before taxes.

The previous drawing produced no second-tier winners (usually a $1 million prize) and of course, no Grand Prize winners. The jackpot will continue to rise in value until someone wins it.

Check the winning numbers here after the drawing at 11 p.m. tonight.

Powerball prizes at every level

The two largest prizes went unclaimed in Wednesday’s Powerball drawing, but that doesn’t mean there weren’t some significant prizes awarded. In total, 329,290 tickets hit a prize of some kind. Powerball will shell out more than $2,820,000 to winners of lower-level prizes.

Players win lower-tier prizes by matching some combination of numbers and the Powerball. Tickets that match only the Powerball win a prize of $4. Ditto if you match the Powerball and one other number. The next prize is $7, if you match two numbers along with the Powerball, or if you match any three numbers drawn.

Players take home $100 if they match three numbers plus the Powerball, or any four of the first five numbers drawn. The prizes get more serious if you match five balls. Matching four of the white balls plus the Powerball will win you $50,000. Another way to match five balls is by guessing all five of the white balls, without the Powerball. That stroke of luck will entitle the winner to $1 million.

Spending an extra $1 for Powerball’s Power Play option will multiply lower-tier prizes by the Multiplier number drawn, up to 10x. The Match 5 prize is only doubled to $2 million with Power Play. Always check your tickets so you’re not leaving money on the table.
