The Powerball jackpot continues its steady climb, reaching $82 million for July 16. The lump sum cash value, for a winner who chooses to take the prize in a single payment, totals $46.6 million before applicable taxes.
Powerball drawings are now held three times per week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. The Monday night drawings were added in August last year, offering players more chances to win. Powerball also added the Double Play option, which plays your numbers in a second drawing each night. Double Play costs $1 and the Top Prize is always $10 million.
