A Pennsylvania player using Borgata online casino must be one of the luckiest in the world. The individual hit for a $1 million last August, and cashed out for $417,404 in late May, BetMGM announced in a press release on Monday. Winning two progressive jackpots that size has never been done before.
Borgata Casino PA is one of the stronger online casino platforms in the Keystone State, which is owned by BetMGM. It is one of the leaders in the amount of slots offered to players.
PA native shows off luck in another huge slot jackpot win
A Drexel Hill resident has netted nearly $1.5 million in the span of nine months. The second victory for the player happened in May, winning $417,404 on a $18 wager on Bison Fury: The Stampede.
Specifically, the $1 million jackpot won last August was won on the Bison Fury. Both slots wins triggered “The Big One Colossal Jackpots.”
BetMGM VP of Gaming, Angus Nisbet, said:
“Winning a million-dollar jackpot is incredible. Two progressive jackpots this size in less than a year has never happened in the history of BetMGM. We congratulate the player on these extraordinary jackpot wins.”
The player decided to keep their identity anonymous, but provided a statement to BetMGM:
“Borgata Online and BetMGM are the best! Thanks to Borgata Online for giving me the chance of a lifetime, not once but twice, to win two big jackpots.”
After being the beneficiary of two life-changing jackpots, there’s certainly is no reason to not like Borgata and BetMGM. The operator is known for generous jackpots, as it awarded $75 million through six months of 2023. That’s on pace for $150 million in total jackpots won for players last year.
Borgata offers second-most slot games in PA
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board does not report revenue by operator, which makes it difficult to see exactly the contribution Borgata makes. However, it is partnered with one of the top licensees in the state. Here are the top three grossing PA online casino licensees YTD (through May):
- Hollywood Penn National (DraftKings, BetMGM, Fanatics, Hollywood): $389.6 million
- Valley Forge Casino (FanDuel, Stardust): $291.2 million
- Rivers Casino Philadelphia (BetRivers, Borgata, PlaySugarHouse): $189.5 million
While unclear of exact totals, Borgata is one of the leaders in slot offerings to players, which has helped the vertical cross the $5 billion mark in lifetime revenue. As of June, Borgata supplies the second-most PA slots:
- DraftKings: 2,490
- Borgata: 2,019
- BetRivers: 1,050
- PlaySugarHouse: 1,050
- Golden Nugget: 990
Specifically, the top four on the list are each within the top three licensees, which proves that slot offerings are crucial in the online casino market.
Pennsylvania can look to New Jersey, who reports revenue by operator. Borgata, which has a retail presence in the Garden State, has produced $87.9 million in YTD revenue, which ranks fourth.
Under the BetMGM umbrella, Borgata likely generated a similar total in Pennsylvania.
